Diagnostic assessments can be used to diagnose specific misconceptions and learning gaps before starting a block of work or after completing a block.

Use the pre-topic diagnostic assessment before teaching the Year 6 four operations block of work to gain a baseline understanding of your pupils’ knowledge.

Post-topic diagnostic assessments can be used at the end of the four operations block to identify your pupils’ progress.

Each assessment contains 25 multiple choice questions. Answers are designed by maths specialists to identify the correct answer for each question and explain the common error or misconception covered by the distractor answer.
