Assess your Year 3 to Year 6 pupils’ understanding of the four operations using these pre and post topic diagnostic tests.

This diagnostic assessment can be used to diagnose specific misconceptions and learning gaps before starting a block of work or after completing a block.

Use this assessment before teaching the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division blocks of work to gain a baseline understanding of your pupils’ knowledge.

The assessment contains 15 to 25 multiple choice questions. Answers are designed by maths specialists to identify the correct answer for each question and explain the common error or misconception covered by the distractor answer.
