How to Teach Addition Using Number Lines and Partitioning

It's important that your pupils are able to employ a variety of informal methods to solve addition questions. Here, we look two methods: partitioning and counting on on a number line. This example looks at TO + TO but can be applied to calculations with larger numbers.
